chal ga (so long), korea

What is that feeling
when you're driving away from people
and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing?

-- it's the too-huge world vaulting us,
and it's good-bye.
But we lean forward
to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.

Did you know Jack Kerouac was the son of two expatriate Québécois living in Massachusetts, and that Québécois French was his native language, as he didn't start to learn English until age 6? 'Tis true.

I really should read his work some day...

Sugarbean, if you plan on reading On the Road , get the version with punctuation. The original is headache-inducing. Sadly, I sold my copy a few years ago.
