traffic lights are ridiculously long here!
you can tell someone you'll meet them in 5 minutes,
and it should only take that long to cross the bloody street,
but 15 minutes later, there you stand, waiting for the crosswalk.
and heaven help he who crosses without the walk signal.
red lights aren't mandatory for motorists here.
